Introduction
When considering a law firm system many issues need to be addressed prior to installation. Below are some of the features which are available in a wide range of packages, though no one package seems to offer all. Also some key initial questions which need to be addressed in the early stage are presented here to give you a better idea on what type of issues Netmation consultants can help you address.

• Does the menu permit single-key access to all applications, without going through a series of menus?
• Is general ledger data, time and expense entries and billing information available through online inquires?
• Can system be operated real time, is all information up to date?
• Is there Automatic and Transparent indexing of word processing documents for text retrieval?
• Does the system support text retrieval searches from other modules?
• Can you interface to electronic mail from application programs with in system, such as the firms central docket system?
• Does the word processing system automatically create expense entries in the client accounting system?
• Can appearance of software be modified to represent the firms terminology?
• Can all correcting transactions be made through a single entry? Such as: reversal of client billing, adjustments, reversal of an AR write off, or voiding a check in payables.
• If a matter is opened under the wrong client can the entire matter with history be transferred to another client?
• Can a final bill be reprinted if lost by the client?
